Summary:
Reporting to Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services, the Student Information System District Supervisor plays a pivotal role in our school district, responsible for the efficient management and supervision of the district's Student Information System (SIS) and related processes.
This role will encompass training, system management, report generation, data coordination, and ensuring access rights for personnel within the SIS platform.
The primary aim is to support our educational community in making informed decisions through accurate and timely data management.
Education and
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree or higher preferred, and experience in information technology, data management, or related field Proficiency in Student Information System platforms (e.
g.
, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward) Qualifications/Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders Detail-oriented and able to maintain data accuracy and integrity Strong technical skills and proficiency in relevant software and tools Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to student data and privacy Performance Responsibilities Oversee Student Information System office support Provide training and support to school-based data managers on the proper use of the SIS platform, data entry procedures, and reporting processes Oversee the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the SIS platform to ensure data accuracy, security, and system functionality Collaborate with school administrators to set up scheduling processes in the SIS for K-12 students, ensuring optimal course placements and equitable distribution of resources Coordinate and execute the generation of beginning and end-of-year/semester reports, ensuring data integrity and compliance with state and federal regulations Create reports and data sets necessary for the graduation process, ensuring accurate student records and diplomas Generate and monitor daily headcount and attendance reports, facilitating real-time decision-making for administrators Create electronic files for school and district-based communications, ensuring the efficient dissemination of information to stakeholders Collaborate with various departments to integrate and synchronize programs, such as assessment, special education, and student support services, with the SIS platform Manage and monitor personnel access rights within the SIS platform, ensuring data privacy and compliance with district policies Ensure the accurate and punctual submission of state-level reports that rely on data from the SIS, maintaining compliance with state educational regulations and deadlines Service as a final approver for district and state-level reports before submission Provide supervision of the District SIS office position Other duties as assigned Disclaimer The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
